‘False promises, deceptive assurances’: BJP releases charge sheet against Cong govt

Hyderabad: The BJP on Monday released a detailed charge sheet against the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of administrative collapse, policy failures, and unfulfilled electoral guarantees. The move comes ahead of the municipal and municipal corporation elections across the State.

Titled “False Promises – Deceptive Assurances”, the charge sheet was released at a press meet by BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao and Maharashtra Minister Ashish Shelar, who is in charge of the party’s municipal campaign in the State.

BJP charge sheet Congress govt Telangana highlights stalled schemes, broken guarantees

Ramchander Rao alleged that the Congress government made over 420 promises, including six major guarantees, but failed to deliver on any of them meaningfully. He said the administration had pushed Telangana into a financial crisis, leading to delays in salaries, pensions, and welfare payments.

He added that government employees, pensioners, farmers, women, students, and the unemployed were all facing severe hardship. The BJP leader listed several stalled or underfunded schemes, including Rythu Bandhu, loan waivers, unemployment allowance, fee reimbursement, Aarogyasri, and women-focused welfare programmes.

According to Rao, Congress failed to uphold commitments in key sectors like healthcare, education, job creation, and social justice for SC, ST, and BC communities. He accused the government of reducing welfare to “empty rhetoric.”

Senior BJP leaders Ashok Parnami, Eatala Rajender, Dr. N. Gautam Rao, and N.V. Subhash were also present during the release.
