Bhatti Vikramarka says Earth Sciences University will become global research hub

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Earth Sciences University would grow into a global research hub as Telangana laid its foundation stone in Bhadradri Kothagudem on Tuesday. He addressed the meeting after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, ministers and public representatives took part in the ceremony. The leaders later joined the Praja Palana and Praja Vijayotsav public programme.

Vikramarka said the government planned to develop the university to international standards. He noted that the institution carried the name of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and described the launch of India’s first full-scale Earth Sciences University as a proud milestone for Telangana. He also said the programme reflected the state’s commitment to scientific advancement.

Earth Sciences University to advance geology and mineral studies

According to the Deputy Chief Minister, India lacked a complete Earth Sciences University until now. He said the new institution would support research on geological layers, minerals and applied earth-science fields. The government, he added, would create modern buildings, facilities and research infrastructure quickly so the university could begin work soon.

Vikramarka said the Earth Sciences University would guide scientific work nationwide and highlight Telangana’s research strengths at a global level.
