Bhatti promises unmatched grandeur for Gaddar Film Awards

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the state government would organise the Gaddar Film Awards ceremony on Ugadi with unmatched grandeur through the Film Development Corporation.

He said the government planned the Gaddar Film Awards as a historic event, unlike anything held earlier in the state. As a result, the ceremony would draw the attention of the global film industry towards Hyderabad.

Accordingly, the Deputy Chief Minister assured complete government support and coordination for the smooth conduct of the Film Awards ceremony.

On Friday, Bhatti Vikramarka launched the film screening process for the Gaddar Film Awards at Prasad Labs.

Gaddar Film Awards to honour legacy

While paying tributes, the Deputy Chief Minister described Gaddar as a revolutionary who used art and ideology to drive social change. He said Gaddar dedicated his life to the people and remained committed to public causes.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the Congress government instituted the Awards to acknowledge Gaddar’s contributions. He added that the ongoing year marked the second edition of the awards.

He further said the government would hold the Awards presentation ceremony in a grand manner on Ugadi, in keeping with the cultural significance of the festival.

Speaking about the selection process, Bhatti Vikramarka said Jury Chairman Mani Sharma commanded wide respect in the film industry. Therefore, he urged the chairman and jury members to follow a transparent, impartial, and unbiased evaluation process.

He said fairness and credibility in jury decisions would strengthen the stature of the Awards.

The programme was attended by Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, FDC Executive Director Kishore Babu, screening committee members, and other guests.
