Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday directed officials to initiate the relocation of all polluting industries operating within Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) to areas outside its limits. He asked the industries department to prepare detailed guidelines, a relocation calendar, and set a firm deadline for the move.
The instructions were issued during a high-level meeting on revenue generation at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat. Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu, and Jupally Krishna Rao, who are part of the revenue sub-committee, were present.
The committee also reviewed progress under the Rajiv Swagruha housing scheme and examined the status of vacant Housing Board plots. Officials were told to maintain transparency in ongoing public auctions and ensure housing remains affordable for lower and middle-income groups.
Revenue updates were also tabled: the Commercial Taxes Department reported a 1.8% increase, the Stamps and Registrations Department saw 3.6% growth, and the Mines Department registered a 7% revenue surge over the past month.
Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sultania, Industries Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, and other senior officials attended the session.
