HYDERABAD: Backward Classes (BC) leaders have expressed dissatisfaction with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s approach to implementing reservations, accusing his Congress-led government of using Delhi as an excuse to delay action. They demand the immediate issuance of Government Orders (GOs) to enforce the reservations.
At a round-table meeting organized by the BC Jan Sabha at the Somajiguda Press Club in Hyderabad, discussions centered on the topic “BC Bill—Agitation Action Plan for Immediate Implementation of Reservations in Local Bodies, Education, and Employment Sectors.” D. Rajaram Yadav, the state president of BC Jan Sabha, criticized CM Revanth Reddy for allegedly singing the “Delhi tune” to avoid implementing reservations. He warned that the BC community would demonstrate the true essence of the BC movement to the Chief Minister, who, according to Yadav, is content with accolades from a few sycophants. Yadav emphasized that relentless struggles against the Congress party would continue until 42% reservations are implemented in local bodies, education, and employment sectors.
He further accused the Congress party of deceiving the BC community by merely conducting caste censuses without taking substantive action. Yadav alleged that the Chief Minister is attempting to mislead BCs by citing court orders and the Ninth Schedule. He announced plans for large-scale protests against the Congress government’s stance, extending from the state capital to villages, to demand the implementation of 42% reservations. Yadav called on BC organizations, caste associations, and BCs across party lines to unite for this cause.
