Hyderabad: The Bar Council of Telangana has removed ten advocates from its rolls after an internal verification process found that nine had submitted forged educational certificates and one had concealed key facts during enrolment.
The Council said that the certificates submitted by the nine lawyers had not been issued by the universities they claimed to have attended. A separate case involved an advocate who failed to disclose material facts required during the registration process.
Each of the ten individuals was given an opportunity to present their case during a full inquiry conducted by the Council. Following the completion of proceedings, the Bar Council officially struck all ten names from its register of practising advocates.
Officials said the action was taken to maintain the integrity of the legal profession and ensure that only properly qualified individuals are allowed to practise.
