Hyderabad: An Anti-Corruption Bureau surprise check at the South Zone Regional Transport Office in Bandlaguda found several alleged irregularities, including 33 missing transport applications.
Officials from the ACB’s Ranga Reddy Range conducted the Bandlaguda RTO surprise check. They found unauthorised agents at the office and noticed suspicious UPI transactions. During the inspection, ACB officials found ₹24,760 in cash with agents present at the RTO.
The ACB also noticed an alleged practice involving symbols and names being placed on applications. Officials suspected that the markings facilitated faster processing of applications routed through agents.
The staff members named in connection with the alleged practice were B. Sunitha, AO, and Mohd Imran, Senior Assistant. K. Babuji, Junior Assistant, and N. Hemanth Kumar, AO, were also named. The others were K. Sai Kumar, Senior Assistant, and M.A. Lateef Khan and T. Saikanth, both Junior Assistants.

The Bandlaguda RTO surprise check also found that 33 transport applications were reportedly missing from the custody of two staff members. In addition, the ACB inspection highlighted the prolonged posting of some employees at the South Zone office.
One staff member had reportedly served at the office for nearly 20 years, although there had been short breaks during that period. The ACB was expected to examine the alleged irregularities further.
