Bandi Sanjay questions CBI probe delay in Formula E race scam, phone tapping case

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of staging repeated political dramas over the Formula E race scam. He criticised the government for summoning former minister T Harish Rao for questioning while taking no action against K T Rama Rao, who was also linked to the project.

Bandi Sanjay questions CBI probe delay in phone tapping case

Sanjay said that even though several leaders had admitted irregularities in the Formula E project, the government had failed to act. He questioned why the case, which involved international firms, had not been referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The Minister also raised strong concerns about the ongoing phone tapping case. He asked why the probe had been dragged out like a “daily serial” for two years. Referring to the statement of former intelligence chief Radhakishan Rao, he claimed that phone tapping was carried out under direct orders from former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Sanjay alleged that both KCR and his son were responsible for damaging thousands of lives. Yet, he said, no serious action had been taken.

Foreign links and inaction on key accused

He further claimed that central agencies and foreign actors were also linked to the surveillance. Sanjay reminded that leaders had admitted the tapping of phones belonging to judges and Union officials, but the state still resisted handing the case to the CBI.

He questioned why the government had previously sought to seize assets of former SIB officer Prabhakar Rao if he failed to return from abroad, only to allow him to move freely after his return.

Allegation of diversion tactics by Congress and BRS

The Minister alleged that both Congress and BRS were working together to divert public attention. He accused them of using BRS MLC K. Kavitha’s case as a distraction from bigger scams like Kaleshwaram.

Sanjay claimed that both parties were manipulating public focus ahead of local body polls, avoiding real accountability and masking governance failures.
