Hyderabad: An inter-state gang involved in a high-value ATM theft was arrested by CCS Balanagar and Jeedimetla Law & Order Police, who recovered ₹17 lakh in cash and four two-wheelers worth ₹3 lakh, totalling ₹20 lakh in seized property.
The accused Yasib Hussain alias Asif Haarun Khan from Palwal, Haryana; Aamir Aansri of Hyderabad; and Md Abed from Nuhu, Haryana were identified as habitual ATM gas-cutting offenders with a record of crimes across multiple states.
On the night of July 8–9, the gang targeted an HDFC ATM in Markhandeya Nagar, Jeedimetla. Between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m., they used gas cutters to breach the machine and stole ₹34.71 lakh in cash. A case was registered under Cr. No. 671/2025 at Jeedimetla PS.
The gang operated by splitting into smaller units, selecting remote ATM locations with external shutters. They disabled CCTV systems, used gas cutters sourced locally, and travelled via stolen two-wheelers.
After the theft, they abandoned one vehicle in Gummadidala PS limits and committed another two-wheeler theft in Kamareddy, using those to reach Adilabad before dispersing to their native locations by truck.
A coordinated investigation involving the review of over 500 CCTV cameras and analysis of known offender patterns led to the arrests.
They are currently implicated in multiple cases:
