Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught an assistant engineer red-handed while taking a bribe of ₹30,000 in Ranga Reddy district on Friday.
Amar Singh, posted at the 33/11 KV Gandhamguda Sub-Station under the Himayath Sagar Section, was apprehended while accepting the bribe to facilitate transformer installation at an apartment project. The work was part of a contract executed by the complainant.
Officials said the bribe amount was recovered from Singh’s possession. He allegedly acted dishonestly by demanding and accepting the amount for performing his official duties. The ACB stated that he misused his position to gain an undue advantage.

Following the arrest, Amar Singh was produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally. A formal investigation into the matter is ongoing. The complainant’s identity has been kept confidential for security reasons.
