Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Saturday urged the party’s Legal Cell to fight for justice and uphold the Constitutional rights of citizens. He accused the Congress-led government of tampering with voter lists in Hyderabad to help a specific group.
While addressing a meeting at the BJP state office, Rao claimed that voter rolls were being inflated to benefit the AIMIM. He said these changes were designed to increase the party’s seats in upcoming municipal elections.
Rao slams Congress, backs Election Commission’s voter revision
Rao said the BJP Legal Cell had already approached the High Court against the recent GHMC ward delimitation. He stressed that the legal campaign must continue to address these alleged violations.
Further, he accused the Congress and BRS of relying on money power and divisive tactics. He called on party advocates to expose these “political conspiracies” and stay committed to public service.
According to Rao, the public continues to trust the Indian judiciary. However, he said Congress is attempting to undermine that trust by attacking institutions like the judiciary and Election Commission.
He clarified that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a routine and transparent process led by the Election Commission. It helps maintain clean voter lists by removing bogus names, adding new voters, and deleting names of the deceased or duplicates.
