Adulterated liquor sold in milk packets seized in Medchal-Malkajgiri raids

Hyderabad: In a brazen attempt to evade detection, traders in Medchal-Malkajgiri district were found selling adulterated liquor in sachets resembling milk packets. Excise department officials conducted surprise raids in Gundla Pochampally, Kandlakoya, and Ayodhya Nagar and seized large quantities of the spurious alcohol.

The liquor was being packaged under the label “SVS” and distributed in milk-style packets to disguise its contents. Acting on a tip-off, excise enforcement teams cracked down on multiple vendors and arrested several individuals involved in the illegal trade.

The racket involved local traders filling lookalike sachets with substandard or spurious liquor and selling it at low prices, targeting areas where regulation is weak.

Officials confirmed that the seized material was being examined and further investigations were underway to trace the source of the packaging and distribution network.

Authorities warned consumers against purchasing unlabelled or suspiciously packed liquor and assured continued crackdowns on such illicit operations.
