Adluri Laxman Kumar stresses inclusive support for persons with disabilities

Hyderabad: Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar said the Telangana government is committed to ensuring independent and dignified lives for persons with disabilities. On Thursday, he made the statement at an assistive technology programme held at Alien Innovations in Hyderabad.

During the event, more than 20 visually impaired persons received ‘Navinault’ assistive devices. According to the minister, society must view persons with disabilities as capable individuals. With proper support, he said, they could lead independent lives.

Meanwhile, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the government had adopted clear policies. These policies covered education, jobs, reservations, technology access, self-employment and pensions for persons with disabilities.

Persons with disabilities to benefit from technology support

Adluri Laxman Kumar said the government ensured timely pension payments. In addition, officials ensured smooth delivery of scholarships and fee reimbursement schemes. At the same time, the state was using technology to create new learning and work options for persons with disabilities.

Moreover, the minister praised the Telangana Innovation Cell for supporting innovators and startups. Alien Innovations, he said, had developed practical tools that improved daily life for visually impaired users.

Therefore, he urged corporate organisations to expand CSR partnerships to support disability-focused programmes. Separately, he congratulated Alien Innovations founder Ravi Kiran for winning the Global IMAGEN Venture Award. The recognition, he said, highlighted innovation with social value.
