Hyderabad: Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar on Sunday responded sharply to fellow Minister Vivek Venkatswamy’s recent public remarks, calling them deeply unfortunate and inappropriate. He said it was painful that Vivek had taken his name in public.
Speaking to the media, Lakshman clarified that he remained fully committed to the party and its flag. “I have never crossed the party line and I will not do so,” he said.
He added that any differences between them should have been discussed privately. “If there is any issue between us, it would have been better to sit down and talk it out internally,” Lakshman said.

While refraining from making personal attacks, Lakshman said he would leave Vivek’s comments to the public judgment of his wisdom, decency, and respect. “The words he spoke reflect more on him than on me,” he added.
The remarks come amid visible tensions between Congress ministers, with internal disagreements spilling into the public domain. Lakshman’s appeal to resolve such matters internally underscores the need for party discipline as the government moves through its term.
