Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Adluri Lakshman alleged that former Minister and BRS leader T. Harish Rao secretly funded 28 BRS MLAs without informing party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao. He said this was why KCR did not immediately offer Rao a ministerial post after regaining power.
Lakshman, while addressing the media on Monday, said Harish Rao had been spreading false and irresponsible claims against the present government. He also slammed him for branding the current Cabinet, which includes several ministers from weaker sections, as a “Dandupalayam batch.”
Adluri Lakshman Harish Rao feud deepens over Cabinet remarks
Lakshman countered that if this Cabinet were a “Dandupalayam batch,” then the BRS government’s team under KCR would be a “Stuartpuram gang.” He said such remarks insulted SC, ST, and BC ministers who earned their posts through public support. Therefore, he demanded that Harish Rao immediately issue an unconditional apology.
Furthermore, Lakshman recalled that KCR’s daughter and BRS MLC K. Kavitha had earlier accused Harish Rao of corruption in the Kaleshwaram project. When she invited him for a debate, he avoided the challenge, Lakshman said. “Now he says he will send Koppula Eshwar in his place. Why is he afraid to face the discussion himself?” he asked.
Minister challenges Harish Rao for open debate on corruption
Lakshman declared that he was ready to face Harish Rao in an open debate at Ambedkar’s statue in Hyderabad. “We are ready at any time and any place,” he asserted.
In addition, Lakshman suggested that KCR should control his son-in-law’s political outbursts. He remarked that Harish Rao’s aggressive statements were exposing deep internal cracks within the BRS. “If he keeps talking like this, the party’s internal differences will become public,” Lakshman warned.
