Achampet MLA joins rally, pays tribute on Forest Martyrs’ Day

Hyderabad: A bike rally was held in Achampet town, Nagarkurnool district, on Thursday to mark Forest Martyrs’ Day. The rally started at the Divisional Forest Office and ended at Amaraveerula Stupam near Ambedkar Chowrasta. Participants, including local MLA Dr. Chikkudu Vamsikrishna, paid floral tributes to forest martyrs.

MLA pays tribute to forest martyrs

Addressing the gathering, Vamsikrishna said September 11 is observed annually as Forest Martyrs’ Day to honour those who sacrificed their lives protecting forests and wildlife. He praised forest staff for working on the frontlines and risking their lives to safeguard natural resources.

Forest conservation a shared responsibility

The MLA reminded citizens that protecting forests is everyone’s duty. He stressed that human survival depends on conserving both forests and biodiversity. Despite rain, participants joined the rally in large numbers and paid their respects.

Former MPP Ramanatham, senior leader Mallesh, Achampet Forest Divisional Officer, rangers, section officers, and beat staff also attended the programme.
