ACB nabs Tandur sub-registrar for accepting ₹16,500 bribe

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Sai Kumar, a junior assistant serving as the in-charge Sub-Registrar at the Tandur Sub-Registrar Office (SRO). He was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹16,500 in Rangareddy district.

According to ACB officials, Sai Kumar (A1) demanded the bribe. It was for handing over four previously registered documents and for registering seven new ones. The amount was reportedly collected through D. Satkumar (A2), a document writer at Balaji Associates. It was delivered by D. Ashok (A3), an assistant document writer.

The bureau recovered the full bribe amount from Satkumar during the operation. All three the in-charge sub-registrar, the document writer, and the assistant were arrested. They were presented before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases in Nampally.

Authorities have withheld the complainant’s identity to ensure safety. ACB officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
