Hyderabad: Acting on a disproportionate assets case, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided seven locations linked to a suspended Hanamkonda additional collector. During the raids, officials detected assets worth ₹7.69 crore.
ACB teams conducted searches at the residence and other premises of suspended Hanamkonda additional collector (Revenue) Venkata Reddy. Officials found assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. They made a preliminary estimate valuing the assets at ₹7.69 crore.
The raids followed his arrest in December last year. ACB officials had then allegedly caught him accepting a ₹60,000 bribe linked to school permission work. The government later placed him under suspension.
ACB detects properties, cash and gold in searches
During the searches, officials found a villa valued at about ₹4.65 crore. They also detected one flat during the raids.
In addition, the ACB found a commercial shop worth ₹60 lakh. Officials also identified eight open plots valued at ₹65 lakh. They further found 14.5 acres of agricultural land.
ACB teams seized ₹30 lakh in cash from the premises. They also found bank balances amounting to ₹44.03 lakh. Officials recovered gold ornaments weighing 297 grams.
ACB officials said they were verifying property documents and bank records. They added that the investigation was ongoing. Further legal action will follow after completing asset verification.
