Aadi Srinivas counters Harish Rao, defends Telangana government

Hyderabad: Government Whip Aadi Srinivas said BRS leaders ignored the public verdict despite their clear defeat. He issued a sharp counter to former Minister Harish Rao’s comment that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was turning Telangana into a “state of drinkers.” Srinivas said the previous government let the Kalvakuntla family run the State like a private company. He also said Harish Rao continued attacking the people’s government even after voters rejected the BRS. Moreover, he noted that the earlier regime blocked public representatives from entering Pragathi Bhavan.

Srinivas recalled that the new administration renamed Pragathi Bhavan as Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan within 24 hours of Revanth Reddy taking charge. He said the decision restored access to the public. According to him, the move symbolised a shift toward openness and transparency.

Government Whip praises summit investments and questions BRS role

Srinivas dismissed Harish Rao’s claim that the State government acted like a private firm. He said the administration felt proud to host the global summit in Hyderabad. More than 3,000 delegates arrived from India and abroad, he added. This response, he said, strengthened Telangana’s global profile. He also noted that investment agreements worth over ₹2 lakh crore were signed on the summit’s first day.

He said BRS leaders could not accept that Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka now worked from Praja Bhavan. Srinivas said the Congress government would honour all promises made to the people. He expressed confidence that Congress candidates would win the local body elections. Furthermore, he alleged that BRS leaders operated WhatsApp groups from Dubai to spread misinformation about CM Revanth Reddy and the government. He said these efforts would not shake public trust.
