Aadi Srinivas blames BJP leaders for blocking Telangana BC reservations

Hyderabad: Government Whip Aadi Srinivas accused BJP leaders of blocking Telangana BC reservations. He said their remarks on the issue created a false picture. During his briefing in Hyderabad, he stated that BJP leaders “cut the voice of BCs in broad daylight.” Soon after, they attempted to appear supportive of reservations. According to him, the same leaders obstructed the enhanced quota plan.

Srinivas said the state government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy tried to secure 42 per cent BC quota. However, he explained that the Centre stalled the related bills. He argued that BJP leaders stayed silent in Delhi. Later, they targeted the Chief Minister in Telangana, which he described as pure opportunism.

BJP stand on Telangana BC reservations questioned

He also questioned BJP MP Laxman for shifting his stand on the BC bill. In the Assembly, Laxman backed the proposal. Later, his position changed in Delhi. This reversal, Srinivas said, caused direct injustice to BCs. He recalled protests by the state Congress team near Jantar Mantar. Moreover, he said leaders waited for a Presidential appointment to push the matter.

Srinivas urged BC voters to defeat BJP candidates in the sarpanch elections. He criticised Laxman for calling himself a BC representative. Instead of pressing the Prime Minister, Laxman focused on his post, he said. He added that Laxman attacked the Gandhi family despite its record of political sacrifice.

He said the Congress party would secure Telangana BC reservations. With confidence, he stated that justice would reach BC communities.
