Hyderabad: Transportation and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar served as chief guest at the passing out parade of 96 AMVIs (Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors) trained at the RBVRR Telangana Police Academy today.
These 96 AMVIs began their four-month training on March 11, 2025, from a sanctioned strength of 113 posts. The government has already filled 113 AMVI positions, 54 transport constable posts, and 10 junior assistant roles, as part of efforts to boost employment for unemployed youth.
During the ceremony, Minister Prabhakar received a guard of honour from the graduating AMVIs and awarded top performers. He emphasised that future training on vehicle technology and field visits is scheduled over the next two months.
Officials present included Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, RBVRR Police Academy Director Abhilash Bisti, Transport Commissioner Surendra Mohan, alongside police and transport department officials. The Minister praised the graduates for bring honour to their families and the state.

The training curriculum covered provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, Telangana Motor Vehicles Tax Act, Indian Penal Code (2023), Civil Safety Code, Indian Evidence Act, road safety, accident investigation, and stress management. Physical fitness and weapon handling were also included, with assessments held at the end of the programme.
Prabhakar underlined the department’s commitment to strict enforcement of traffic rules, reducing road fatalities, and raising public awareness. He highlighted recent initiatives such as cashless treatment for accident victims and AI-based vehicle fitness checks.
He also said the 300 existing staff will receive two months of refresher training. Calling the AMVIs “role models”, he urged them to coordinate with district officials to uphold public trust.
