Hyderabad: A 21-year-old youth died in a hit-and-run near Kishanguda flyover under the Shamshabad Airport Police Station limits on Saturday afternoon.
According to Inspector Balaraju, the victim, Shivakumar, hailed from Malkapur village in Chowdapur mandal of Vikarabad district. He was working as an apprentice at a company near Mangalpally in Ibrahimpatnam mandal.
On Saturday, Shivakumar had visited Shamshabad with a friend to purchase tablets. While returning on a bike, an unidentified vehicle struck them near the Kishanguda flyover as they were taking a U-turn. Shivakumar sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. His friend suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment.
After receiving the information, Shivakumar’s father reached the scene and broke down in grief. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the absconding vehicle.
