Youth dies in road accident after bike crashes into parked DCM near Nagaram

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old man died in a road accident on Friday night after his motorcycle crashed into a parked DCM truck near the HP petrol bunk at Nagaram Bangla in Nagaram mandal. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM.

The victim, Gundu Mallesh from Vardhamanakota village, was returning from Thirumalagiri after work. His bike collided with a DCM positioned beside the road, reportedly linked to a nearby crusher and tar plant.

According to locals, the truck was left without warning signs or supervision. They said the vehicle had been carelessly parked near a roadside railing, leaving no room for visibility. Mallesh, unable to spot it in time, hit the rear of the DCM and suffered serious injuries.

He was rushed to hospital but died en route. Police said the DCM was part of temporary roadwork equipment operated by a private contractor. However, the setup lacked basic safety measures.

Residents pointed out that the plant was set up for ongoing repairs on Route 360B. The contractor was expected to post staff to manage traffic flow and guide vehicles. Instead, no such precautions were taken.

Witnesses accused the plant operators of negligence. They claimed the site routinely allows loaded vehicles to move in and out without any regulation. The absence of traffic control, they said, directly contributed to the accident.

Nagaram SI Chiranjeevi confirmed that police registered a case and launched an investigation. Local residents have demanded that authorities dismantle the crusher plant immediately to prevent further accidents.
