HYDERABAD: The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Telangana, forecasting light rains in several regions across the state. This development brings some respite to residents facing intense summer heat.
According to the department, a trough extending from central Chhattisgarh to interior Maharashtra is the primary reason for the expected rainfall. As per current forecasts, light rains are likely in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by this evening or tomorrow.
In Telangana, a yellow alert has been issued for the following districts: Jagityal, Mancherial, Sircilla, Asifabad, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Bhadradri, Bhupalpally, Khammam, Warangal, Nalgonda, Janagama, Siddipet, Hyderabad, and Ranga Reddy. The Meteorological Department has advised residents in these areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
In Andhra Pradesh, particularly in the northern coastal districts, there is a possibility of light rains along with thunderstorms and lightning on Tuesday. Authorities have also noted that temperatures are expected to drop over the next two days due to these weather conditions.
However, with the weakening of the trough over Telangana, dry weather is likely to prevail across the state today, the department added.
