HYDERABAD: In a shocking case of murder and suicide in Gajularamaram under Jeedimetla Police Station limits, a woman killed her two sons with a sickle before ending her own life by jumping from a five-storey apartment building.
The woman, identified as Tejaswini (32), reportedly used a coconut-cutting sickle to kill her sons—Arshith Reddy (7) and Ashish Reddy (5). After the gruesome act, she leapt to her death from the top of the apartment complex. The younger son, Ashish, was rushed to Ramraj Hospital in Shapur Nagar but succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment.
Police reached the scene upon receiving information and took possession of the bodies. They were shifted to the hospital for post-mortem examination. A six-page suicide note was recovered from the scene, in which Tejaswini cited long-standing health and domestic issues as the reasons for her extreme act.
According to the note, Tejaswini had been suffering from a serious eye condition that required eye drops every four hours to see clearly. Her sons had reportedly inherited the same condition. She expressed deep distress over managing the illness and described years of emotional and physical struggle.
The note also mentioned frequent quarrels at home, with her husband allegedly reacting angrily and making statements like “Die if you want to.” Tejaswini wrote that this hostile environment, combined with her children’s deteriorating health, pushed her to take the drastic step.
The incident has left the local community in deep shock. Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
