Vem Narender Reddy meets VH after Rajya Sabha nomination

Hyderabad: Vem Narender Reddy, recently chosen as the Indian National Congress candidate for the Rajya Sabha, met senior party leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Friday.

The meeting took place soon after Narender Reddy filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha election. Party sources said he met the senior leader to seek his blessings.

Narender Reddy, considered close to A. Revanth Reddy, has begun meeting senior leaders after his selection. The interaction with VH formed part of that outreach.

Both leaders held discussions for some time during the meeting. They also spoke about working together in future party programmes.

Vem Narender Reddy meets VH amid Rajya Sabha ticket discussions

Senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao had also sought the Rajya Sabha ticket. Therefore, the meeting gained attention in Telangana Congress circles.

Recently, VH stayed in New Delhi and met top party leaders seeking the nomination. He met Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and K. C. Venugopal and requested them to consider his name.

However, the party leadership finally selected Vem Narender Reddy as the candidate. With that decision, lobbying among aspirants came to an end.

Meanwhile, Narender Reddy appears to be reaching out to senior leaders to ensure unity in the party. As part of this effort, he met VH and discussed party matters.
