Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao falls ill during BC bandh rally in Amberpet

Hyderabad: The BC bandh demanding enhanced reservations for Backward Classes continued across Telangana on Saturday, disrupting public transport and daily life.

BC bandh halts buses and schools across Telangana

Since morning, RTC bus services have remained suspended across several districts. Shops, educational institutions and business establishments stayed closed in support of the bandh. Almost all political parties and social organisations extended their backing to the statewide protest. The Congress Party also joined the bandh activities throughout the state.

V Hanumantha Rao collapses during the Amberpet rally

Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao (VH) participated in a rally at Amberpet along with MLA D. Nagender and DCC president Rohin Reddy. While walking in the procession, VH suddenly felt unwell and collapsed. Party leaders immediately helped him to his feet.

Sources said the veteran leader had been suffering from kidney-related health issues and had recently undergone hospital treatment.
