Hyderabad: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free online Aadhaar document updates till June 14, 2026, giving millions of Aadhaar holders additional time to update their records without any charges.
The extension was officially announced through a post on UIDAI’s social media handle on X (formerly Twitter), which stated: “UIDAI extends free online document upload facility till 14th June 2026; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This free service is available only on myAadhaar portal. UIDAI has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their Aadhaar.”
This facility allows individuals to update their Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents online through the myAadhaar portal. This online service which earlier incurred a fee, is now being offered free of cost as part of UIDAI’s push to keep Aadhaar records accurate and up to date.
These updates are especially important for individuals whose personal details may have changed due to events like marriage, relocation, or other circumstances that affect identity or address information.
UIDAI has urged all Aadhaar holders to make use of the facility to ensure their records are current, accurate, and properly matched with their supporting documents.
