UAE golden visa awardee Sundeep Makthala receives grand welcome in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: UAE Golden Visa recipient Sundeep Kumar Makthala received a grand welcome at Hyderabad International Airport on Friday, following his recognition with the rare palace-endorsed honour from the United Arab Emirates.

Flashmob reception, first stop with Telangana Minister

Makthala arrived to cheers and celebrations, including a flashmob and a large group of supporters. He was accompanied by his wife Bhagya Lakshmi. Upon landing, his first stop was a courtesy visit to Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu at the Minister’s Quarters.

He said the visit was intended to thank the state government for its consistent support and encouragement, particularly in the tech and innovation sectors.

Makthala vows stronger UAE-Telangana industry ties

Speaking to reporters, Makthala reaffirmed his commitment to boosting Telangana–UAE ties in sectors like innovation, startups, investments, and global industry partnerships. He described the UAE’s golden visa as a rare honour and said it reinforced his mission to support Telangana’s development on the global stage.

Minister Sridhar Babu praised Makthala’s global standing and acknowledged his work during the Telangana movement, especially in tech-driven volunteer initiatives. He said such recognition brings pride and global visibility to the state.

Representing global tech interests from Telangana

Makthala serves as Chairman of the World Telangana Information Technology Council (WTITC), representing 2,843 companies in 63 countries. He described the UAE recognition as a “responsibility to strengthen global connections for the state and the country.”
