Hyderabad: In a tragic Hasthinapuram house fire, two women sustained burn injuries in a domestic fire accident at a residence in Hasthinapuram, Hyderabad, during a family function on Saturday. The incident, reported under Cr. No. 58/2026, occurred when flames erupted from a gas cylinder regulator and spread through the house.
According to the complaint filed by K. Venkatesh, a resident of Srinagar Colony, Hasthinapuram, the fire broke out around 10:42 a.m. while water was being boiled on a gas stove for bathing purposes. Several relatives had gathered at the house for a family event. As the fire spread rapidly, most family members managed to escape. However, two women were trapped inside.
Victims rescued through window, rushed for treatment
The victims, identified as Bhagyamma (48), mother-in-law of the complainant, and Saritha (32), his sister, sustained multiple burn injuries. Bhagyamma suffered burns on her face and hands, while Saritha sustained injuries to her hands and other body parts.
They were rescued through a window by family members and immediately shifted to Sai Nursing Home in Saidabad for treatment.
The blaze also destroyed several household items, including a television, refrigerator, sofa, ceiling fans, a flour mill (kuttu machine), and other valuables. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
