Tummala asks CCI to keep Cotton Kisan App open 24×7

Hyderabad: State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Saturday urged the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) to make the Cotton Kisan App accessible 24 hours a day. He said farmers were struggling because the app currently opens only at 10 pm.

Tummala made the request during a review with CCI CMD Lalit Kumar Gupta and Agriculture Director Gopi. He also raised multiple concerns from farmers and ginning millers, such as the early opening of L1, L2, and L3 mills. Additionally, he suggested allowing the purchase of cotton with up to 20 percent moisture and revisiting the purchase cap of 12 quintals per acre.

The minister said the Telangana government had already written to the Centre on these issues. He instructed APC Secretary Surendra Mohan to follow up in Delhi to ensure swift resolution.

Cotton Kisan App: Minister highlights crop damage, Urea stock updates

Tummala informed officials that Telangana currently holds 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of Urea in buffer stock. The state has secured allocations of two lakh metric tonnes each for November and December. He directed officials to expedite supply and crack down on illegal roadside sales of Ad Blue, a chemical used in Urea production.

He also demanded immediate reports on crop losses from Cyclone Montha. Agriculture Director Gopi said officials were uploading images of damaged crops on the Crop Booking App as part of the assessment process.
