Traffic marshal saves commuter’s life at Suraram signal

Hyderabad: A Cyberabad traffic marshal saved a commuter’s life by administering CPR after the man collapsed at Suraram signal on December 5, police said on Monday.

Marshal Shiva Kumar, stationed at the signal under Jeedimetla police station limits, responded immediately when the commuter, identified as Raheem, fell unconscious from a suspected heatstroke. The marshal performed CPR on the spot and then rushed him to Mallareddy Hospital.

Doctors later confirmed that Shiva Kumar’s swift action played a crucial role in Raheem’s survival.

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty and Joint Commissioner Dr. Gajarao Bhupal commended the marshal’s timely response. They said the incident highlighted the critical role traffic personnel play as first responders in emergencies.

Medical staff and local residents also praised the marshal for his prompt and effective action.
