Hyderabad: TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud extended Nagoba Jatra greetings to Adivasi communities on Sunday. He described the festival as a powerful symbol of tribal culture, traditions and spiritual beliefs in Telangana.
In a message issued on the occasion of the sacred Nagoba Jatra, he said the festival reflected the essence of the Adivasi way of life. It also stood as a living legacy passed down through generations. Furthermore, he said the Jatra played a crucial role in preserving cultural identity and strengthening unity among tribal communities.
Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Nagoba Jatra represented values such as respect for nature, social equality and brotherhood. He noted that the continued observance of the festival highlighted the deep-rooted spiritual traditions of Adivasis in the state.
He said devotees from different parts of the country visited the Jatra to express their faith. This itself reflected the richness and greatness of Adivasi culture. In addition, he expressed hope that the festival would be conducted smoothly and peacefully with devotion.
Nagoba Jatra greetings reflect Congress’s focus on tribal welfare
The TPCC president recalled that after the formation of Telangana, the Congress government had accorded special priority to tribal welfare, protection of rights and preservation of Adivasi culture. Moreover, he said sustained efforts were being made to improve the living standards of tribal communities.
Mahesh Kumar Goud reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening education, employment opportunities, healthcare services and basic infrastructure in tribal areas. He said inclusive development remained central to the Congress’s vision for Telangana.
Extending his wishes, he said that with the blessings of the deity, peace, good health, and prosperity should prevail in the lives of Adivasi people across the state.
