Hyderabad: TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday challenged Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to a public debate on the Congress and BJP’s governance records.
He said the BJP had ruled the Centre for 12 years, while the Congress completed just two years in Telangana. “Let Kishan Reddy compare results. We’re ready for a debate,” he stated.
Mahesh Goud accused the Union Minister of failing to deliver for Telangana. He demanded that Reddy list what he had done for the state during his time in office. “Instead of serving Telangana, he’s writing absurd letters to Sonia Gandhi,” he said, calling the move disrespectful.
He added that Reddy had no moral authority to question Sonia Gandhi, who was instrumental in the creation of Telangana.
Centre showed bias against Telangana, says TPCC chief
Mahesh Goud said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government had shown clear bias against the state. He pointed to reduced budget allocations and delays in key projects like the Hyderabad Metro expansion and Musi River beautification.
He also criticised the Centre for stalling BC reservations and failing to sanction central educational institutions for Telangana.
Mahesh Goud asked why Kishan Reddy remained silent on these issues. “He can’t pressure the PM. Yet he wants to blame Sonia Gandhi,” he said.
He claimed that Congress had already proven its governance strength. “The Jubilee Hills by-election and panchayat poll wins show public trust in our work,” he added.
