Hyderabad: A sightseeing trip turned tense on Saturday after a youth from Telangana was swept away by the Krishna river current while bathing at the Patala Ganga stretch in Srisailam. The incident triggered panic among fellow tourists before local fishermen intervened to save him.
The youth was part of a group of four friends who arrived from Telangana to visit the area on August 2. They entered the river for a swim when the sudden pull of the current trapped one of them. Despite efforts by his friends, they failed to rescue him.

Fishermen stationed nearby noticed the commotion and swiftly launched a rescue using their boat. They managed to reach the struggling youth in time, haul him aboard, and bring him safely to shore.
He was administered first aid on the riverbank and did not sustain any injuries. The incident, witnessed by multiple tourists, caused momentary tension at the site before calm was restored.
Several visitors praised the fishermen for their quick and brave response.
