Hyderabad: Tolichowki police cracked three property theft cases within 24 hours, recovering stolen items worth ₹9.2 lakh and arresting three suspects, including a habitual offender and a domestic worker.
Case 1: Auto theft
G. Mastan Rao reported the theft of his auto (TS12UA8198) on July 12, parked outside his home in Brindavan Colony. Later that evening, police stopped a suspicious auto at Shaikpet X Road. The driver, Hameed Khan alias Addu (19), a resident of Parsigutta and a habitual offender recently released from a juvenile home, confessed to stealing the vehicle. He said he committed the theft to fund his smoking and drinking habits. The stolen auto, valued at ₹2.7 lakh, was seized.
Case 2: House theft
On July 13, Syeda Zufishan Nasir of Akbarpura reported gold jewellery missing from her almirah while preparing for a family function. CCTV footage led police to Deepika (26), a former maid at the complainant’s residence, currently working in housekeeping at SKP Towers, Gachibowli. She admitted to stealing the ornaments to support a relationship with her colleague. Police recovered gold and diamond items totaling about 50 grams, valued at ₹4 lakh.
Case 3: Motorcycle theft
Shaik Ahmed of SA Colony reported the theft of his black JAWA 42 Bobber (AP13FA3957) on July 6. Acting on a tip, police located the bike near Jamalikunta on July 14. The rider, Shaik Suleman (25) of Dichpally, Nizamabad, who runs a tiffin center, confessed to the theft. The motorcycle, worth ₹2.5 lakh, was recovered.
The cases were solved under the supervision of DCP G. Chandra Mohan and ACP Syed Fiaz. SHO L. Ramesh Naik and the Tolichowki crime team led the operations.
