Hyderabad: Three Odisha labourers were killed when a trolley auto hit them on the Outer Ring Road at Keesara in Medchal–Malkajgiri district. Police identified the victims as Narayan (28), Chek Mohan (24) and Jairam (32). They had reached Shamirpet two days earlier seeking work and were engaged in clearing weeds near roadside saplings.
After completing their morning shift, the workers had lunch and rested near the road. At that time, a trolley auto carrying cell tower equipment from Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam to Medchal struck them.
Driver drowsy before fatal crash
Police said the driver, Ganesh, lost control after feeling drowsy. The auto first hit a roadside railing before veering into the group. Some workers managed to move away, but three were hit directly and died instantly.
Ganesh was taken into custody, and police registered a case. Keesara CI Anjaneyulu said further investigation would follow.
