TGSPDCL launches WhatsApp chatbot for electricity services

Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) on Sunday launched WhatsApp chatbot electricity services to provide faster and more user-friendly support to consumers.

Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Faruqui said the utility introduced the digital facility to simplify access to electricity-related services. He stated that consumers could now use their mobile phones to connect directly with the power distribution company.

Under the new WhatsApp chatbot for electricity services, consumers must save the number 8712441912 on their phones and send a “Hi” message. Once connected, they can register complaints, check billing details and receive updates on power supply status.

The company said the initiative aimed to ensure that users could access essential services anytime and from anywhere. As a result, the process would reduce the need for physical visits to offices.

Officials explained that the chatbot system would provide instant responses to routine queries. Moreover, it would allow consumers to track complaint status and obtain billing information within minutes.

Musharraf Faruqui urged all electricity consumers to save the official number to use WhatsApp chatbot electricity services securely. He added that the digital platform would improve transparency and speed in grievance redressal.

The power utility said it would continue to adopt modern technology to strengthen customer service and enhance operational efficiency across its jurisdiction.
