TGHRC seeks job, ₹5 lakh relief in tribal hostel child death case

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TSHRC) has recommended government employment and financial relief for the family of Devath Joseph. He was a 10-year-old boy who died in custody at a government-run tribal hostel in Khammam. TGHRC seeks job opportunities to help families affected by tragedies like this.

TSHRC Chairperson Dr. Justice Shameem Akther issued the order on December 5. He cited severe negligence by hostel staff and supervisory officers from the Tribal Welfare Department. TGHRC seeks job creation within the government sector. This is to aid in recovery and support for affected families. The Commission concluded that their failure directly caused the child’s death.

Joseph’s mother, who is deaf and mute, earns irregular daily wages. She also cares for her daughter and elderly mother-in-law. The Commission noted her vulnerable condition in its findings. This emphasizes the need for how the TGHRC seeks job opportunities for families like hers.
