Hyderabad: Minister D Seethakka strongly condemned the slanderous campaign against a Telangana women IAS officer, warning of strict legal action against those responsible. She said the state government stood firmly behind the official and called the attacks an assault on democratic values.
Speaking on Saturday, Seethakka criticised the spread of indecent and defamatory content targeting female IAS officers in the state. She urged society to unite against such misogynistic behaviour, which she described as deeply rooted in feudal mindsets unable to accept women’s rise to leadership.
The minister said the Telangana government is committed to empowering women across all sectors. She noted that in this context, any effort to humiliate or demean women officers would not be tolerated.

Seethakka emphasised that targeting women in public service undermines the values of democracy and accountability. She said female IAS officers are working responsibly in service of the public and deserve respect.
She also assured that the government would take strict legal steps against anyone making abusive remarks or circulating defamatory material. Protecting the dignity of women officers, she added, is a collective responsibility.
