Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said the Telangana government would intensify support for cottage industries across the state to generate employment and raise incomes.
He made the statement while inaugurating an exhibition of handmade products by BC artisans, organised by the BC Welfare Department at Tank Bund. The event will run from June 25 to 29 and features items from Hyderabad and other districts.
Bhatti said traditional artisan goods were of great social value and that promoting them was part of building a “healthy Telangana.” He urged the public to visit the stalls and support eco-friendly and health-oriented products.
He noted that the government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, was allocating special funds with a focus on Backward Class corporations.
Items on display include clay utensils by potters, bamboo ware by Medari artisans, beadwork, and handloom textiles from Pochampally, Gadwal, and Narayanpet. The exhibition also features Neera-based products by members of the Gouda community.
Bhatti, accompanied by Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakiti Srihari, visited each stall, interacted with artisans, and sampled dishes prepared by members of the Bestha community.
