Hyderabad: The Telangana government has issued fresh directives amending working hours for staff employed in commercial establishments. Under the revised norms, daily work hours have been extended, but the weekly limit cannot exceed 48 hours.
If this threshold is crossed, employers must pay statutory overtime wages.
The rules also stipulate a minimum half-hour break for every six-hour shift, and total working hours per day, including rest breaks, cannot cross 12 hours.
Officials said the changes were aimed at improving the business environment under the state’s Ease of Doing Business framework.
