Hyderabad: The Telangana government is preparing to recruit around 12,000 police personnel, providing a major opportunity for aspirants across the state.
Preparations are underway to conduct a large-scale recruitment drive to fill vacancies in the Telangana Police Department. Senior officials have indicated that approximately 12,000 posts, including constable and sub-inspector (SI) positions, will likely be available. Authorities suggest that the number of vacancies could increase further.
This move comes at a crucial time for unemployed candidates across Telangana, who have been intensively preparing for government job opportunities while closely monitoring the Congress government’s promised Job Calendar. Aspirants targeting police jobs are continuing their coaching in anticipation.
The current recruitment push has been triggered partly by a wave of recent retirements. In April 2021, the government extended the retirement age for police personnel from 58 to 61 years, allowing many to stay on until March 2024. With these personnel now retiring, numerous vacancies have opened up.
Officials are reportedly ready to send recruitment proposals as soon as formal orders are received. It is expected that the Telangana government will release full details regarding the police job notification shortly.
