Telangana ESI, Basavatarakam Hospital conduct free cancer screening camp

Hyderabad: A free cancer screening camp was held at the ESI Hospital in Jeedimetla on Friday for insured persons (IPs), jointly organised by Telangana State ESI and Basavatarakam Cancer Institute. Labour and Employment Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy supervised the initiative.

A total of 231 insured persons underwent screening, including 154 women and 77 men. The screening procedures included X-ray, mammography, ultrasound sonography, Pap smear tests, and other diagnostics. Six oncology specialists from Basavatarakam Hospital and ten doctors from ESI participated in the camp.

Free cancer screening camp benefits over 200 insured persons

Patients welcomed the initiative and expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive check-up. Many requested that such camps be organised regularly across other ESI hospitals in the state.

Officials said efforts are underway to formalise a partnership between Telangana ESI and Basavatarakam Cancer Institute. The goal is to extend similar free cancer screening services to insured persons across all ESI hospitals in the state.
