Hyderabad: Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said Telangana education reforms had become a key priority for the Congress government while addressing an annual day event in Kamareddy on Saturday.
He said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was directly monitoring the Education Department to improve standards. He alleged that the system had declined over the past decade due to lack of scholarships and pending fee reimbursements.
Shabbir Ali said dues worth Rs 3,500 crore were left unpaid during the previous regime. However, he added that the government was clearing these dues in phases. He said Telangana education reforms were focused on strengthening institutions and restoring support systems for students.
Shabbir Ali attended the Srinidhi Group of Colleges event as chief guest. During the programme, Shabbir ali distributed certificates to graduating students and watched cultural performances. Shabbir ali also congratulated students who excelled across academic and extracurricular activities.
Shabbir ali urged students to aim for top roles such as IAS and IPS officers. He said they should bring recognition to Kamareddy at national and global levels. Shabbir ali added that around 70,000 jobs had been provided so far under the Congress government.

Telangana education reforms drive expansion and new institutions
Shabbir Ali said the government planned to build integrated educational institutions on 25 acres in each constituency. Shabbir ali added that efforts were underway to establish a Sports University in Telangana.
He also said an engineering college had been allotted to Telangana University after the Congress government came to power. He expressed commitment to developing Kamareddy as a study hub.
Earlier, he paid floral tributes to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his death anniversary at the municipal office. Later, he inspected development works at Indira Gandhi Stadium along with officials.
He said the government had sanctioned Rs 8.90 crore to upgrade the stadium to international standards. The project includes a running track, indoor stadium, drainage system, and multiple sports courts. He directed officials to ensure quality and timely completion.
He said the upgraded stadium would help develop Kamareddy as a sports hub. It is expected to attract athletes and host national-level competitions. He added that a swimming pool proposal would be considered after discussions.
Shabbir Ali said the government aimed to promote rural talent at global platforms such as the Olympics. He confirmed that works had begun and were expected to be completed by September.
