Census 2027 to deploy 90,000 staff in digital mode
Importantly, the Chief Secretary stressed that strong inter-departmental coordination remains essential. He said timely decisions will ensure smooth execution of Census 2027. Therefore, he directed officials to prepare estimates of the required workforce.
Since Census 2027 will operate in digital mode, officials must ensure complete coverage. In particular, no slum, habitation or remote settlement should remain uncounted. Additionally, he emphasised quality training for enumerators and supervisors.
According to Director of Census Bharati Holikeri, the exercise marks a major milestone. In the first phase, the State will deploy nearly 90,000 government employees. Preferably, teachers and other staff will serve as enumerators and supervisors.
Several senior officials attended the meeting.
