Telangana CM praises bicycle patrol initiative in Warangal villages

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday praised the innovative bicycle patrol initiative undertaken by the Warangal district’s Vangara police, highlighting its role in educating rural communities and tackling social issues.

In a tweet, Revanth Reddy commended the patrol’s efforts in raising awareness about cybercrime, the importance of education, and the dangers of social evils. “Curbing crime isn’t just about enforcement,” he remarked. “Real policing means understanding the root causes of crime and addressing them.”

The Vangara police have been using bicycles to reach villages and connect with locals, sharing information on issues like cybercrime, substance abuse, and the harmful effects of drug use. Their proactive approach aims to steer young people away from dangerous habits, including marijuana use, and towards constructive community involvement.

Revanth Reddy described the bicycle patrols as a model for the entire state police force, applauding the officers for their dedication. “Vangara police are a role model for every police officer in Telangana,” he said. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the staff involved.”
