Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy on Thursday inspected the EVM godown at Rajendranagar in Ranga Reddy district, reviewing storage and security arrangements for ballot units and polling equipment.
Accompanied by district Collector C. Narayana Reddy, the CEO examined the condition of election material stored at the facility. Officials briefed him on electronic voting machines and related procedures.
Sudarshan Reddy instructed officials to ensure strict precautions around handling and storage of EVMs and ballot units. Highlighting the possibility of increased constituencies in the district due to delimitation, officials requested additional storage space.
The Collector responded that steps would soon be taken to construct a new building to meet future storage needs.
Rajendranagar RDO Venkat Reddy, Tahsildar, warehouse in-charge Bomma Ramulu, and other officials participated in the inspection.
