Telangana a national model in caste census, says Minister Ponnam

Hyderabad: Telangana has become a national role model in conducting the caste census, said Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday. He was speaking at a meeting of the Kapu and Munnurukapu communities held at Majestic Gardens in Moosapet.

Ponnam promises community hall, reiterates BC quota commitment

The minister assured the gathering that the state government would complete the construction of the Munnurukapu community building in Kokapet. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implement 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs). However, he noted that the issue is pending in court and will move forward through legal means.

Minister calls for unity among BC communities

Ponnam urged all marginalised communities to unite in their fight for reservation rights. He stressed that backward sections must act in solidarity to protect their constitutional entitlements.

During the event, Kapu and Munnurukapu leaders unanimously pledged support to Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in the Jubilee Hills by-election. The endorsement marks a consolidation of community backing for the Congress in the high-profile contest.

Telangana PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and Government Whip Aadi Srinivas also attended the meeting, lending further political weight to the occasion.
