Hyderabad: Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the government is taking up ₹60,799 crore worth of road projects. He described it as the largest infrastructure initiative in Telangana’s history.
Speaking during the Jubilee Hills bypoll campaign on Saturday, he thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for releasing project funds. He added that the new roads will make Telangana a hub for multinational firms.
Moreover, the minister said the works will attract huge investments. They will also create employment for thousands of rural youth across the state.
Telangana to expand Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway into eight lanes
Venkat Reddy said the government will spend ₹10,400 crore to expand the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway into eight lanes. Additionally, he said the Regional Ring Road, estimated at ₹36,000 crore, will soon begin and boost connectivity.
He further announced ₹11,399 crore worth of tenders for new rural roads and for widening single-lane routes. Meanwhile, the government will start an elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam, covering 52 km and costing ₹8,000 crore.
Greenfield highway from Future City to Bandar Port soon
The minister also said Telangana will build a greenfield highway from Future City to Bandar Port via Amaravati. The project will cost ₹20,000 crore. Consequently, it will set a benchmark for modern road development in the country.
Furthermore, he said these projects will boost trade, improve rural access, and position Telangana among India’s fastest-developing states. Hence, the minister called them vital for balanced regional growth.
